One of the most important places to start, when designing a new loading dock, or carrying out a major refurbishment, is to check the vehicles that will use the new docks. We have a simple check sheet which will help you to obtain the necessary information, to enable a loading bay specialist to recommend the right piece of equipment for the job, not the cheapest.
The wide range of equipment choice starts here…
Dock Levellers
A range of dock levellers are supplied, telescopic lip or swing lip, electro-mechanical operation. Choice to suit vehicles and operational requirements. Standard widths 2000 mm/2100 mm and lengths from 2000 mm/2500 mm/3000 mm/3500 mm/4000 mm, calculated to suit gradients. Non standard sizes are available which enable us to carry out refurbishment to existing loading bays, reducing the need to reconstruct pits. All equipment meets current H&S and EC Standards.
Dock Shelters
Unlike most of our competitors, we manufacture sizes to suit the vehicles surveyed, rather than having a “one size fits all” mentality. RIGID framed dock shelters, supplied with a projection to suit your vehicles, and with head curtains ranging from 800 mm to 1500 mm drop, depending on vehicle range. Down to ground models or dock height. RETRACTABLE dock shelters, having a collapsing frame to reduce the impact damage caused when vehicle reverse into the shelter. Side curtains and covers of varying sizes to suit. With or without rainwater run-off.

Traffic Lights
Link to your dock door – when closed the light goes to green (tells the driver he can pull away), when the door is open it turns to red (telling the driver he must not move). Keeps heat loss to a minimum and reduces vehicle accidents – and the cost is minimal.

NEW “GREEN” PE MOVING BUMPER
Designed by Eastern to offer a lower carbon footprint. Uses recycled PE. The design allows for the bumper to be used four times that of conventional bumpers and at the end of its life, it can be recycled again. We estimate the life span of this product will be double that of any other fixed PE or nylon bumper on the market and up to 10 times that of fixed moulded rubber bumpers . . . . . and you help reduce your carbon footprint.

Dock Pods

There are situations when an aditional dock position is needed, but little or no space inside the building. The same situation if a new opening is being prepared and construction of a pit would be expensive. For these applications we recommend a dock leveller on a stand, surrounded by a clad pod, either insulated or single skin metal cladding. With a door fitted either inside the building or on the end of the pod, a new loading bay is quickly and efficiently put into use.
Where vehicle space is limited a saw-tooth dock arrangement can be incorporated, setting the pods at an angle to the building
